As your Councilmember, I have worked hard to serve our community.
I listen to your concerns and share your desire for a family-friendly
city with a vibrant downtown while preserving single-family
Elected twice as Mayor, I'm a team player, working with
Councilmembers and staff to improve our city. Together we've
made great strides in upgrading our parks, including new
playground equipment and landscaping at Log Boom Park. I
worked on a zoning change to prohibit long-term alcohol
sales in our parks, keeping them family friendly, and was
instrumental in establishing the Kenmore Senior Center in
Rhododendron Park. I've also advocated and voted for more
ball fields for youth sports.
Taxes can be burdensome for senior citizens and struggling
families, so I've held the line against property tax increases
and spearheaded the move to lower utility taxes and will
continue to do so in the future. Another concern is the
high cost of homes and apartments in this area, so I've
worked for affordably priced housing for the workforce in
the new downtown. I support balanced budgets, ensuring the
Council spends tax dollars to benefit the citizens of Kenmore.
Serving on 14 local, regional and national boards and committees,
I work to foster a healthy economic climate and to increase
safety and reduce gridlock on our roads. I favor safe left-turn
access to businesses on Bothell Way and a pedestrian overpass
at the intersections of Bothell Way and 73rd and at 67th
Avenues for greater safety.
you will feel free to contact me with your questions and
suggestions. The better I understand the concerns of those
I represent, the more effective I will be as your Councilman.
